The Kodokan Cup All Japan Judo Weight Category Tournament, which will serve as the first qualifying round for the Japanese national team for the World Championships to be held in Doha, Qatar next May, will begin on the 29th at Chiba Port Arena (Chiba City). On the first day, all seven women’s classes were held.

The 63kg class was won by Miku Tashiro (Komatsu), who represented her at the Tokyo Olympics. She won all five matches with “Ippon”, and she won the Kodokan Cup for the first time at the age of 28. Tashiro won the silver medal at the World Championships in 2018 and 2019, but due to injuries to her left ankle and left shoulder, she missed out on a medal at the Olympics. After that, she had surgery on her left knee anterior cruciate ligament. After 1 year and 2 months, she made a comeback and was moved to tears. In the final, she defeated Aiko Watanabe in the GS overtime match against Koshi Yokoshiho “Ippon”.

In the 63kg class final, Mirai Tashiro pushes in with her left Osotogari and catches Aiko Watanabe in all four directions.
