Neighborhood courts are activated with the Municipal Basketball Championship | Press Room | Social Communication Coordination

This weekend, the courts of the Dale, Lomas Karike, Huerta Legarreta and Revolución parks brought together nearly 600 Chihuahuans, including families and players who were part of the first edition of the 3×3 Municipal Basketball Championship “In your neighborhood”.

The tournament organized by the Municipal Government of Chihuahua, through the Municipal Institute of Physical Culture and Sports (IMCFD), had the objective of encouraging the initiation of young people to practice sports, which, in the 3×3 basketball modality, provides greater dynamism and attraction for young people of all ages.

Juan José Abdo Fierro, director of the Municipal Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, explained that this first edition is to measure the activity and the call in the neighborhoods, to be able to reach more fields in the city with these programs, with the impulse of sport as a preventive measure of violence and recovery of spaces.

Enthusiasm, talent, camaraderie and cheers were experienced in each of the fields, where 83 teams participated, among the three categories, 2009-10, 2007-08, 2005-06, of which 22 teams corresponded to the women’s branch and 61 in the men’s branch.

Category 2005-2006:

1 place: Cougars

2 places: Buhos 6

3rd place: Forever

Manly

3 lugar: Shooters

2 place: Cobach Campus 8

3rd place: 24/8

It is worth mentioning that, in each court, there was a first and second place by category, which represented their “neighborhood” in the grand final, which was held on the fields in Parque Fundadores, better known as Huerta Legarreta, where the winning teams they were creditors of trophies, medals, sports equipment and the sponsorship of uniforms with the support of ‘Dezzo’ and State Ademeba.
