NBA: Maledon is fixed!

Not retained by Houston and awaiting a contract, Theo Maledon will discover a third NBA franchise this season. The former ASVEL player will indeed evolve under the colors of the Charlotte Hornets.

After Oklahoma City and Houston, Théo Maledon (21, 1.93m) will discover a third NBA franchise in the coming days. Recently cut by Houston, the French leader who finished second in the last Euro with the Blues has known his fall point since Friday. And after the Thunder and the Rockets, it is the colors of Charlotte that the former ASVEL player, awaiting a new contract, will now defend.

The famous Insider Shams Charania has announced that the young 21-year-old French international will be able to bounce back to the Hornets, where he has been traded under a “two-way contract”, as expected. Arrived in Texas at the beginning of October as part of an XXL transfer involving… seven other players between the Rockets and OKC, Maledon, barred at his post by Daishen Nix and TyTy Washington Jr, themselves responsible for playing complements behind the holder Kevin Porter Jr never had a chance.

The French, Charlotte knows well

And since the arrival of Bruno Fernando had further complicated the Rouen native’s chances of scratching playing time – the Rockets had already greatly exceeded the number of authorized players – the silver medalist of the last Euro with the team de France knew he was not frank. This is no longer the case since the Hornets, who have known many French players among their ranks in recent years (in particular Boris Diaw, Tony Parker and Nicolas Batum), decided to trust the one who had been drafted in 34th position in 2020 by Philadelphia without ever wearing the 76ers jersey to compensate for the injury of LaMelo Ball and perhaps waiting for the return of Kemba Walker.

Unless the North Carolina franchise dear to Michael Jordan, owner of Charlotte, also plays a nasty trick on our young Habs, who should take on the role of understudy for replacement Terry Rozier. We don’t wish him. One thing is certain: once again, Maledon can already prepare to go back and forth between the G-League and the Greensboro Swarm team and the NBA.
