The season isn’t even over yet, a contract has already been negotiated.

Fulwell 73 Productions has partnered with NBA Entertainment to produce a documentary series that will accompany the 2023 basketball playoffs. The ten-part documentary series, which is currently untitled, will be launched soon. The project is described as the “defining series on the league’s annual major event”.

Fulwell 73 is behind The Late Late Show with James Corden, Carpool Karaoke, The Kardashians, the Grammy Awards, the Friends reunion and Adele’s Emmy-winning CBS special, among others. The production company has also produced nearly a dozen sports documentaries, including Amazon’s All or Nothing: Juventus, which followed football club Juventus Turin in Italy’s Serie A season 2020/21, and the Netflix documentary Sunderland ’til I The» who followed the English club through the 2017/18 season.

The NBA documentary will be produced by Ben Winston, one of Fulwell 73’s founding partners, who said in a statement, “There are few sporting events in the world that can compare to the NBA Playoffs and the journey these world-class athletes take along the way do, measure. We’re thrilled to partner with the NBA to bring fans an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the most exciting 10 weeks in esports.”
