NBA – “Do unfinished business”: Schröder in Lakers training

Cologne (SID) – NBA professional Dennis Schröder has trained for the first time since his return to the Los Angeles Lakers and has announced ambitious goals. “Whatever it is, I’ll do everything I can to get victories and get things done,” said the national basketball player, according to the US portal ESPN, after the unit.

Schröder (29) had already played for the Lakers in the 2020/21 season, but was eliminated with the team around superstar LeBron James in the first round of the play-offs against the Phoenix Suns. “I will make sure I put everything I can into the team to win games,” Schröder announced.

According to his coach Darvin Ham, he should play a few minutes in the test against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday evening. The new season in the North American Pro League begins on October 18th.

Schröder had signed a one-year contract with his former club shortly before winning the European Championship bronze medal. He could have continued to play for the Lakers last season. However, the point guard is said to have turned down an offer of a contract worth 84 million US dollars for four years.

Instead, Schroeder switched to record champions Boston Celtics and later in the season was traded to the Houston Rockets. Schröder contradicted reports on Monday about a contract offer at the time. “I mean, in the end there was never a contract,” Schröder said. “There was never a contract, I never turned anything down… That’s not true.”
