more than 25 wins per year in 17 consecutive seasons

Enviable brand. NOvak Djokovic advanced to the semifinals of the ATP in Tel Aviv, on hard surface, and thus reached 26 wins this year, surpassing the mark of 25 wins per season in 17 in a row. Without a doubt, to applaud.

In 2006, Djokovic experienced a very particular year in his great tennis career. That year, the Serb achieved his first ATP-level title. Since then, he has always passed the barrier of 25 wins per season and that is why he added 17 years in a row with that mark surpassed.

Not even the Spanish Rafael Nadal could match it. The Covid-19 pandemic did not stop him either, since in 2020 a very reduced schedule was played on the professional circuit.

This mark could well have been achieved by Djokovic before in 2022, but due to his decision not to get vaccinated against the coronavirus, he was unable to participate in two Grand Slams, such as the Australian Open and the recent US Open, in addition to Masters 1000 level events.

This Friday, at the ATP in Tel Aviv, the solid 35-year-old Serbian defeated Canadian Vasek Pospisil (149th; ex-Top 25) 7-6 (5) and 6-3 and advanced to the semifinals. In this way, he reached 26 hits so far this season. And he seeks to continue adding by measuring himself with the Russian Roman Safiullin in the semi.
