Monaco and Nice winners in the Europa League / Conference

The two French clubs won at the start of the evening in their respective European Cups.

AS Monaco beat Trabzonspor 3-1 this Thursday evening in the Europa League without shaking. Like their last match against Nantes, Monaco made a great start to the match! It must be said that the Monegasques were helped by a red card for Maxi Gomez (12e0-0), the striker of Trabzonspor.

In a duel with Camara, the Uruguayan collapses and kicks Camara in the mouth as he falls. The gesture seemed voluntary. Two minutes later, Caio Henrique did a great job on his left side. He hooks a first opponent and launches Embolo deep after a small bridge. The Swiss striker makes a back pass for Ben Yedder who pushes the ball with his left foot (14e, 1-0). Subsequently, the Monegasques were very dominating, like Diatta on an off-center shot in the area (26e1-0) or Embolo who fails to adjust the opposing goalkeeper on a cross from Vanderson (29e, 1-0). The locals will be rewarded just before half-time, with a penalty converted by Ben Yedder, very fit, after a fine number from Vanderson in the box (45e2-0).

On returning from the locker room, Philippe Clément’s men managed the meeting, even allowing themselves to aggravate the same thanks to a goal from Disasi (55e, 3-0). Monaco then largely eased off, which allowed Trabzonspor, courageous in this difficult context, to reduce the mark thanks to a fine strike from Bakasetas on a service from Bozok, two incoming.

With this victory, Monaco achieved a great operation by taking second place in the group, tied with the Hungarians of Ferencvaros, both at 6 points. The Monegasques will travel next Thursday for the return match at Trabzonspor, for a meeting that will certainly be more difficult.

It finally passes for Nice

First victory for Nice in this Europa League Conference. The Aiglons were generally dominating in this meeting, especially in the first half, with a triple opportunity Pépé on the post, then Boudaoui on the goalkeeper and finally Diop above (9e, 0-0). With control of the ball, Nice was very little worried by the Slovacko.

Back from the locker room, Pépé took advantage of a terrible mistake by the opposing goalkeeper to score the first goal of the game. On a shot from 30 meters, the former Gunner focuses his shot too much but Nguyen lets the ball pass between his gloves and above all, between his legs (54e, 0-1). Three minutes later, in exactly the same position, the Ivorian international sends a missile on the bar. At this moment, the Aiglons are confident. But the end of the match is rather difficult. First of all physically, where Favre’s men lose more duels and have trouble controlling the ball, but also in the face of pressure from the Czechs who miss the equalizer with the strike from Kalabiska who was alone in the box (90 +4e0-1).

Nice obtains its first victory, and revives well in this Europa League Conference with 5 points. Dante’s teammates must not miss their return match, this time at home, next Thursday.
