MLB: Kevin Gausman is the Blue Jays’ right-hand man for Game 2 against the Mariners

The second game of the Mariners – Blue Jays series is presented on Saturday, starting at 4 p.m., on RDS and on the RDS.ca

The Toronto Blue Jays chose to send starter Kevin Gausman to the mound to start Game 2 of the series against the Seattle Mariners.

Toronto needs a win to keep its season alive after losing Game 1 4-0 on Friday afternoon.

Gausman was pulled from his last start against the Boston Red Sox with a cut in his right middle finger.

The right-hander started a game against the Mariners in 2022, allowing two earned runs on seven hits and striking out batters in five innings.

When Gausman is sent to the mound after a loss this season, he is 3-1 with a 1.41 ERA. He hasn’t allowed earned runs in three of his last four starts after a loss.

The 31-year-old finished the regular season with a 12-10 record, a 3.35 ERA, 205 strikeouts in 31 starts and 174.2 innings of work.
