MLB Baseball: How long is a game?

It is one of the few popular sports in the United States that is not ruled by the clock.

Baseball is a team sport born in the United States that has taken root in other parts of the world, specifically in the Latin American and Caribbean region, where great players have emerged.

In its basic regulations, baseball consists of two teams, each of nine players, who, with the help of a bat, must hit the ball, thus allowing it to travel through the four bases on the field. Each time a player steps on all four bases, they score a point.or better known as career.

Major League Baseball (MLB) games do not have exact lengths because there is no game clock, as in most popular sports.

How long does a match last?

The duration of a baseball game does not have time, but is determined by the time it takes the teams to retire each of the nine innings (innings, in English). The game is divided into nine innings.

Each entry is divided into two turns, where each team will alternate attack and defense. In each of them, the defending team has the mission of getting three outs per inningfor a total of 27 throughout the game, as the attacker will look to hit the ball away from defenders to run around the bases to score runs.

The team that has scored the most runs during the nine innings will win the game, and if the teams are tied at the end of said number of innings, another inning will be played in sudden death (Extra innings) until one of the two wins, since the A tie in baseball is only awarded when league rules prevent play from continuing.

There are multiple factors that could determine whether a game ends earlier or later than expected. Not counting the weather factor, which is usually an important part of the duration of a game; innings may be delayed or sped up because a team is getting a lot of hits and runs; or if the pitchers are being dominant and easily retire the hitters they face.

The longest game in history was in 1984: the Chicago White Sox it took eight hours and six minutes to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-6 after 25 innings.
