Manchester City case, Liverpool boss Klopp is ready to take legal action

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reported to be taking legal action after the media accused him of making hate speech at Manchester City’s owners ahead of Sunday’s match between the two clubs.

Before the game, Klopp took a stab at Man City’s funding sources, making it impossible for Liverpool to compete with them, saying: “There are three clubs in football that can do whatever they want financially.” The German coach allegedly satirized three clubs supported by the Gulf countries, namely Man City, PSG and Newcastle United.

The Times went on to claim that Man City felt Klopp was heating up the match, with Pep Guardiola being pelted with coin projectiles from the stands and the team bus. The Citizens attacked while leaving Anfield.

City also accused Klopp’s words of almost touching the realm of xenophobia. Xenophobia is the dislike, hatred, and/or fear of people from other countries.

Klopp’s camp does not accept this accusation and Telegraph reported that Liverpool will take legal action.

Asked about allegations of xenophobia from Man City, Klopp replied: “In this case, I don’t feel that way at all.”

“I know myself and you can’t criticize me with something so far removed from my personality. If I were like that [xenofobik]then I will hate myself.”

“My words are often misunderstood, I know that but there is no such intention. Sometimes, someone says something and then it hits ‘oh my God’, but my words [soal kekuatan finansial Man City] not so.”
