Mali: krav-maga and shou-bo, sports that are essential on the tatami

Born in Czechoslovakia in 1930, krav-maga, which means contact combat or close combat in Hebrew, was used to deal with the fascist attacks suffered by the Jewish community. This sporting discipline uses techniques borrowed from boxing, judo, jujutsu and wrestling.

As for shou-bo, a Chinese martial art, its practice was introduced in Mali in 2009. Based on flexibility and tenacity, this discipline is made up of 36 techniques, which form a tao. Shou-bo is practiced by all ages.
