Luis Sinisterra: deserves punishment, statements by Paddy Kenny Leeds United | Colombians Abroad

Beyond reproaching Luis Fernando Sinisterra for the stupid expulsion, Jesse Marsch has not taken action on the matter. He called it childish and inadmissible, but the big question is, was it enough to drastically punish him at the club?

It is no secret to anyone that Luis Fernando Sinisterra was a completely different player in the Colombian National Team, as he dismissed Néstor Lorenzo and said he was present at that generational change in the national team. He scored against Guatemala and gave away a brace against Mexico when the match needed him most due to the great start of the Aztecs. Returning to competition in the Premier League, he had a ‘little boy’ attitude and saw the consequences.

From being in the analysts’ mouths in a big way and as an example for Jesse Marsch and his bosses, to being the one to affect his teammates at Leeds United by leaving his club with a man less in the last 40 minutes of game against Aston Villa in what was a goalless draw. Fortunately, everything was equal, but imagine what would have happened if your club lost. He was eaten alive by journalists and former Premier League players.

And the truth is that it was complete stupidity. Luis Sinisterra earned a yellow card in the first half, and just starting the complement, he obstructed an opponent’s free kick collection. He put his leg in the execution in Aston Villa’s own field, and earned the second warning. The action has gone around the world because of how silly it was.

Jesse Marsch and Roy Keane called the action a “stupid and clumsy” red card. Paddy Kenny, former Leeds United goalkeeper also spoke, and he had no mercy with Luis Sinisterra, “it’s stupid, isn’t it? You’re really letting your team down. I don’t understand why players do that even when they are not booked, it doesn’t make any sense. This was a game that Leeds should have won, but they have been let down by a player and it has cost them. Stupid is the only word I can think of for an expulsion like that. Maybe the club should punish him too,” he told Football Insider.

Paddy Kenny also said, “I’m sure the coach will have let him know what he thinks of the situation. I was in the dressing room when Neil Warnock was tearing at the players, it’s not nice. It may be a while before we see him play again.” Due to his childish play, Luis Sinisterra will not be against Crystal Palace on the next date that is coming up. Jesse Marsch will have to decide whether to keep him in mind after that game, or show him the consequences of the foolish ejection.
