This Sunday, at Moustoir, Lorient dominated Lille (2-1), during the 9th day of Ligue 1, despite the expulsion of Ouattara. A goal from Le Bris at the end of the match enabled Les Merlus to claim a fifth success in a row.

How far will the Hakes stop? The question remains open after FC Lorient’s ninth match in Ligue 1 this season. Before the Sunday meeting against LOSC, FCL was already making the best start in its history in the top flight. Obviously, the success acquired against the Mastiffs only confirms this brilliant statistic: seven wins, a draw and a defeat in nine days.

The balance sheet is perfect but it will not make Régis Le Bris forget the imperfections seen this weekend, after a victory, let’s say it, more than happy for the Bretons. The partners of Le Fée first opened the score at ten against eleven (Fonte was in the process of being treated) and on a twist of fate. A missed cross, a goalkeeper who pushes back on his defender and poor Diakité scored against his camp, despite himself (1-0, 9th).

The magic of Theo Le Bris

In front of the score for almost an hour, Lorient often played the counterattacks well. But above all, he suffered a lot from Lille’s pressing and the creativity of Ounas, on a very good day. The Algerian international was also at the origin of the Lille equalizer (then at eleven against ten after the exclusion of Dango Ouattara, 62nd) with this vertical pass for Bamba who did everything. The striker only had to shift David for what was thought to be, at that moment, the turning point of the match (1-1, 78th).

The turning point was in fact an individual feat by Théo Le Bris, who came into play a little over a quarter of an hour ago. The young nephew of the coach (who was celebrating his 20th birthday the day before), then took advantage of a good cross from Kalulu to succeed in a double contact check and a shot between the legs of Chevalier (2-1, 87th). Difficult to dream better for a first goal in Ligue 1, of all beauty but also offering a fifth victory in a row to his club. In the standings, Lorient therefore consolidates its place on the podium and returns to a small length of OM (2nd). Lille remains 8th but could lose several places at the end of this 9th day.
