Lomas de Zamora won the finals of the 2022 Buenos Aires games

The delegation from the municipality of Lomas de Zamora was the one that won the most gold medals in the finals of the Buenos Aires Games that took place last week in Mar del Plata. The total harvest was 66 medals, of which 41 are gold, 17 silver and 8 bronze.

“We are proud of each of the athletes and artists from Lomas who had an outstanding performance in the Buenos Aires games, as well as each of the boys from the Province who participated with great effort and professionalism in this historic edition organized by the team of our governor, Axel Kicillof”, assured the chief of staff of Buenos Aires and mayor on license from Lomas, Martín Insaurralde.

Lomas had 350 representatives from different sports and cultural disciplines in which swimming won 11 medals, athletics 12, aquathlon 3, judo 3, skate 6, taekwondo 5, tennis 5, PCD swimming 3, table tennis 4 and handball 1. In addition , basketball 3×3 obtained 3 medals, goalball 1, PCD athletics 1, burako 1, singing 1, robotics 1, clash royal 1, fishing 1, rugby 1, yew 1 and 1 in Buenos Aires in the race.

“During recent years, Deportes Lomas has had a very important boost by decision of the current chief of staff and mayor in use of license, Martín Insaurralde through public policies to support athletes throughout the year,” said the secretary of Lomas Sports, Manuel Cordero. Currently, a new rugby field and a soccer field are being built in the Municipal Park, in addition to the professional hockey field inaugurated a few years ago. In addition, the space has a shuffleboard court, a professional athletics track and a cycling circuit.

The finals of the 31st edition of the Buenos Aires Games, which took place from October 1 to 6, had 30 thousand Buenos Aires athletes from 116 sports and cultural disciplines that were distributed in 89 stages. In order to cover the majority of the population, the categories were divided into youth, university and tertiary students, older adults, people with disabilities and transplant recipients. Likewise, this edition had the highest number of registrations in the last 10 years: 350 thousand participants from the 135 districts of Buenos Aires.
