Judo and Greco-Roman wrestling add seven medals in the South Americans

Venezuelan Elvismar Rodríguez won the gold medal at the Asunción 2022 South American Games in Paraguay.

According to the Venezuelan Olympic Committee, Elvismar Rodríguez defeated Beatriz Freites, from Brazil, by ippon in the final of the discipline in the 78-kilogram category.

With this medal, the Venezuelan athlete won her second gold at the sports fair. To reach the final stage, Rodríguez defeated the Colombian representative 0-1.

In the semifinals she defeated Vanessa Chala from Ecuador with the same result as before.

Greco-Roman wrestling also added to the South American Games Asunción 2022

Greco-Roman wrestling also added medals at the 2022 South American Games in Asunción. Six categories competed at the end of Wednesday, October 12, and two won gold.

Luillys Pérez Mora (97 Kg) and Luis Avendaño Rojas (87 Kg) became the South American champions in this edition.

Another tricolor that makes up this Wednesday’s winners is Brayan Loyo who managed to hang the silver in the 130 Kg after falling 8-0 to the Chilean Yasmani Acosta.

Other Venezuelan athletes also from the Greco-Roman wrestling discipline obtained bronze medals to complete a successful day with five medals in total, only in Greco-Roman wrestling.

Raiber Rodriguez Orozco (60 Kg), Shalon Villegas (67 Kg) and Wuileixis Rivas (77 Kg) were the three to take third place and win the bronze medals.
