Jesen Therrien wants to return to MLB

In 2017, after several years of hard work in the minor leagues, Jesen Therrien managed to reach the Majors. He pitched 18.1 innings for the Phillies in 15 outings as a reliever.

But unfortunately for him, the injuries have invited themselves. He underwent Tommy John surgery and despite a contract in his pocket with the Dodgers, he never managed to get back on the mound – even in the minors.

So he changed his vocation by going to give back to the youngest with the ABC (as program manager) and, in the process, he underwent a second Tommy John operation. Note also that it is Marc-Antoine Bérubé who will take control of the ABC now.

But as journalist Benoît Rioux (Agence QMI) writes, Therrien has decided to try his luck once again in professional baseball. So he gave up his position at the ABC with the aim of pitching to the pros in 2023.

In the last few weeks, he pitched in the Quebec Major League Baseball to keep in shape and to prove himself.

I hope that a major baseball team will sign him on the basis of a contract allowing him to pitch in the AAA and the Majors. After all, Therrien is a guy with great potential and a team looking for depth could go for a guy who knows the value of sacrifices to get into major league baseball.

I remember this hope who was Eric Gagné’s heir apparent. His Tommy John type operations have slowed him down, but the talent is there.

Who will knock on his door?
