J-Rod achieves offensive milestone in the postseason

The Dominican Julio Rodríguez (J-Rod), figure of the Seattle Marinersachieved a curious mark in the postseason of the Major Leagues (MLB, for its acronym in English).

J-Rod became the first player in postseason history to record two extra-base hits, including a triple, and three runs scored in the first four innings of a game, reporter Sarah Langs said on Twitter.

In the top of the second inning, the Dominican double hit Houston Astros star pitcher Justin Verlander to drive in two runs.

Later in the fourth inning, the native of Loma de Cabrera, Dominican Republic, hit a shot from three corners.

In the first game of the Divisional Series, the 21-year-old Dominican went 2-4, with two RBIs and a walk received.

After earning a spot on the Mariners’ big team in the preseason, J-Rod posted a .284 average on 145 hits in 544 at-bats. In addition, he hit 28 home runs, a record for a rookie in the Seattle franchise, 25 doubles, three triples, swindled 25 bases and drove in 75 runs.
