Gualeguaychú shouted champion in the U13 Men’s Entrerriano Championship – Daily El Argentino of Gualeguaychú. Online edition

The team from the Departmental Association of Gualeguaychú (ADBG) won the Men’s Entrerriano Championship in the U13 category, which took place in Paraná. The contest was organized by the Paraná Basketball Association (APB) and supervised by the Entre Ríos Basketball Federation (FBER).

The boys led by Matías Villarreal beat Concordia 74-60 in the definition in a great match played at the Luis Butta stadium of Atlético Echagüe Club. La Naranjita dominated throughout the match process, although only at the end of the last quarter managed to take an appreciable lead of nine on the scoreboard (49-40).

With seven minutes to go, after taking an offensive rebound, a double by Aryan Arakaki allowed Gualeguaychú to stretch the lead to 14 (59-45) and definitively put the fight on track. Despite attempts to react by the Concordians, the game was already judged history because those from the south of Entre Ríos did not loosen at any time to win the title.

The top scorer for the winners was Mateo Gómez, author of 19 points, seconded by Faustino Otarán, who contributed 18 points, while the best for the Citrus Capital team came through the hands of Joaquín González and Máximo Trupiano, who contributed 16 goals each in their scoring locker. The partials were 17-10, 35-31 and 49-40.

In this way, the ADBG achieved its first title since 2017 when it won the provincial crown in the U15 category playing at home and with Mateo Díaz as a great figure.

The road to the title: In the group stage Gualeguaychú finished undefeated after defeating Santa Elena (87-42), Colón (92-35) and Paraná Rojo (79-76). For the semifinals he beat Paraná Blanco (84-71), while in the definition he did the same with Concordia (74-60)
