Forward Vran is suspended from the “Red Wings” team for an indefinite period of time

Vrana, 26, will be sidelined indefinitely while he receives help and care from the NHLPA organization.

Under the terms of the joint program, Vrana will continue to be paid by Detroit while he receives treatment. He will return to the Red Wings once the program officials have cleared him to compete on the ice.

The NHL’s public relations Twitter account released a statement Wednesday night that the Red Wings have been informed that Vrana has been placed under the NHL and NHLPA Player Assistance Program and will be unavailable to the team indefinitely.

The Detroit Red Wings do not want to comment further on the matter at this time.

Vrana played two games in the NHL this season, where he scored one goal and provided two assists.
