For the first time since the US Open. Kvitová believes in Ostrava’s magic

“I’m looking forward to the spectators and the atmosphere in Ostrava, which I like so much and I remember it very well from the Fed Cup matches last year,” said Kvitová, whose progress to the semifinals last year attracted a lot of spectators to the Ostravar arena, before the match between the two left-handers.

All-day tickets for 300 and 400 crowns are now still on sale in the Ticketportal network.

In addition to the top Czechs with Kvitová, Karolína Plíškova and the recent winner of the tournament in Tallinn, Barbora Krejčíková, the audience can also look forward to the Polish world number one Iga Šwiateková.

“Last year, the atmosphere in Ostrava was great. And I hope that a lot of Polish fans will come,” this year’s queen of the French Open and US Open enticed compatriots.

However, two-time Australian Open champion (2012, 2013) Belarusian Viktoria Azarenková, this year’s Wimbledon winner Jelena Rybakinová from Kazakhstan, Roland Garros champion (2017) Latvian Jelena Ostapenko plus British sensation of last year’s US Open Emma Raducanu are also in the spider of the tournament.

Darja Kasatkinová, number 11 from Russia, and Belinda Bencicová, number 14 from Switzerland, will also compete in Ostrava…

“The lineup is absolutely exclusive, we can expect great matches from the first round,” declared Tomáš Petera, owner of Perinvest, which organizes the Ostrava event.
