Football: in the Coupe de l’Occitanie, on Thau, it will be the story of three clubs and a purpose

Mèze and Balaruc, outside, and Pointe-Courte, at home, are engaged this Sunday, October 9.

For its return to the regional calendar, the Coupe de l’Occitanie had 448 clubs from the thirteen districts that make up the Regional League.

For this third round, the draw remained the preserve of departmental football. It was Wednesday September 28 that the white smoke rose for a few Thau clubs still in the race.

Tips to take

Pointus and Balarucois, who passed through the small door during the second lap, will be on deck again. The Mézois, brilliant winners during the week of Racing Védasien of Aurélien Cathala (4-1), will also be there.

The objective will be to go one more lap. Thus, Pointe-Courte will face and play ASM 34, resident of Regional 2, the highest level at this stage of the event. Born from the merger of two clubs, Valras-Sérignan and Cers-Portiragnes (ex-R1), the Ambition Sportive Méditerranée 34 is not unknown in the basin. She is indeed one of the victims of the Lapeyradois course in the Coupe de France. The Yajou-Gimenez duo will undoubtedly be able to seek advice from their counterpart Caumet-Rega…
