The Spanish Badminton Federation (FESBA) is organizing the IBERDROLA Cup for Women’s Clubs this weekend as an activity linked to the Women’s Universe project of the Youth Sports Foundation of the Higher Sports Council. This competition is organized by CB Oviedo and the Badminton Federation of the Principality of Asturias together with the Spanish Badminton Federation, with the invaluable support of IBERDROLA as the main promoter and the Oviedo City Council.
The level of the 2022 IBERDROLA Cup is maximum, as it brings together 12 Clubs, five of them being TOP10 IBERDROLA teams, the highest category of the National League of National Badminton Clubs. What’s more, the women’s sections of the current champions and runners-up in the league, CB IES La Orden and CB Rinconada, participate on the slopes of the Tudela Agüeria sports center. The defenders of the title, from CB Suflenorsa As Neves, are not lacking either.

The 2022 IBERDROLA Cup It can be seen in its entirety through the YouTube channel of the Spanish Badminton Federation. This Saturday the activity takes place simultaneously on five slopes from 9:30 in the morning.

The objective of this competition is to continue promoting an environment of competition and learning within badminton where meetings and multidisciplinary talks of women linked to sport serve to encourage the development of women in all levels of society.
More than 90 players from 12 different clubs will participate in the IBERDROLA Women’s Club Cup: Rinconada Badminton Club, Soria Badminton Club, Associació Granollers Esportiva, Recreativo Ies La Orden, Huesca Badminton Club, Alicante Badminton Club, Athlos Club, As Neves Badminton Club, Astures Badminton, San Fernando Valencia Badminton Club, Ravachol Pontevedra Badminton Club and Oviedo Badminton Club.
