Fegajudo laxity: Medalist at the African Championships, Luc Manogho deprived of scholarship | Gabonreview.com

Luc Manogho, Gabonese judoka medalist at the 2019 African Championships, currently a resident of Mantois International Judo (JIM 78), in France, is in difficulty in his training center. This is at least what emerges from the development of the president of this training center, Nacer Maakouf. Through the fault of the bosses of the National Judo Federation, the funds intended for the financing of the athlete’s training were transferred to “a closed account”. A fantastic story!

Recipient of a scholarship from the National Scholarship Agency of Gabon (ANBG) for high-level sportsman, Luc Manogho is currently in an uncomfortable situation at the Mantois International Judo (JIM 78) in France. Through the fault of the outgoing office of the Gabonese Judo and Jujitsu Federation (Fegajudo), chaired by Wilfried Nguema, his scholarship was transferred to a closed account. He has therefore been brooding for some time, while the inadvertently misplaced allowance having been granted to him should allow him to prepare for the future Olympic Games.

The Gabonese judoka flew to Paris on August 4th. In France, he had to train at the international Judo center of Mantois (JIM 78). Until then, all the administrative procedures were within the standards. Its tribulations began when a member of the Fegajudo informed the famous center of Mantes-la-Jolie that the RIB on which the scholarship was to be paid risked being rejected because it was backed by an online bank. Nacer Maakouf, the president of JIM 78, then explains that a new account has been opened at the Banque Populaire, the new RIB relating thereto transmitted to the Gabonese federation before the online account is closed for compliance with the regulations in force. .

Returning in detail to what is akin to laxity or casualness on the part of Fégajudo, the president of JIM78 says: “Today, we learned, through Mr. Luc Manogho, that the funds were paid on September 29, 2022. It was upon reading the transfer notice that we regret to note that the funds have been transferred to the closed account“. Nacer Maakouf, who is disengaging from this incident, also suggests that “the account being closed, the transfer will be returned to the sender, i.e. ANBG, within 15 days».

Nevertheless, the Gabonese bronze medalist at the 2019 African Championships conducted his own investigation to realize that the transfer error is the consequence of the information, not updated, transmitted to the ANBG by Wilfrid Nguema and his team. However, they had indeed received the coordinates of the new account, deplores the athlete. Desperate, he wants the authorities to intervene quickly to regularize the situation. “This is the situation I find myself in now.“, deplores the athlete not without underlining a lack of professionalism and respect for the commitments of the Gabonese supervisors.

Very disappointed, the judoka is currently training alone and without medical insurance. Meanwhile, the outgoing president of Fegajudo, Wilfried Nguema, and his list lost the election of the new office of Fegajudo, this 1is october. The outgoing list collected only 7 votes while that led by Hugues Bouguikoumaa won 19. Wilfried Nguema and his team were obviously ousted from the head of the federation.
