F1 ONLINE: Verstappen holds on to first position, with Leclerc and Pérez hot on his heels

“We have another chance to win the world championship and we need to give a perfect performance here. We will give it everything,” Verstappen was quoted as saying by Reuters.

The Hasselt native has a number of options to win the title. But every time he has to finish ahead of Leclerc and Pérez, who still have a theoretical chance. If the Dutchman wins without the fastest lap, Leclerc would have to be third at most. If Verstappen wins with a premium point for the fastest lap, even second place would not be enough for the Monaco rival.

If Verstappen does not win, he must score at least eight points more than Leclerc and six more than Pérez. If he finishes outside the top six, he will not celebrate, no matter how his rivals fare. His next attempt would be on October 23 at the US Grand Prix. There are five races left until the end of the season.
