DraftKings and FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (10/16/22): MLB DFS Lineups

And then there were two. There are two left anyway. The Yankees and Guardians are the only teams that have yet to decide their division series. We have primetime baseball on Sunday. Not everything is bad!

For the showdown mode in DraftKings, we pick a captain who costs 1.5 times his normal salary, but also gets 1.5 times the points. We need to have at least one player from each team and relievers are fair game if you think you have a pearl that relievers will be used on. In FanDuel, the format is a bit different. No player payout is multiplied, but you do get an MVP who gets double points and a starter who gets 1.5x points with three utility slots. Oh…and they’re just hitters.

This article will provide you with my Daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/16/22. The range will range from some of the elite gamers to mid-priced options and value games. It’s also important to watch today’s MLB injury news and headline lists. MLB DFS Captain Options

Gerrit Cole ($17,100)

Well, if you’re facing elimination, Cole is on the short list of pitchers you want on the mound. The strikeout count is elite, and while Cole has struggled a bit this year, his performance against Cleveland this year is also elite. Cole won all three starts against the Guardians and allowed just three runs, all on solo home runs, in 19 remaining innings with 23 strikeouts. Actually, those are crossed-out pedestrian numbers for Cole, but he’s worth paying for on a confrontation list.

Harrison Bader (DK$ 9.300; FD$ 5.000)

It may seem like a strange choice, but it allows you to pay anywhere else, and there is a method to my madness. Bader has homered twice in three games this series, including against Quantrill in Game 1. It was Bader’s second career home run in just five at-bats against Quantrill. In fact, Quantrill has only eliminated Bader once in those five attempts. If you take a chance with Bader, you can use whatever you want.

Star/MVP Options: Anthony Rizzo (14.500 DK$; 8.000 FD$); Steven Kwan (DK $ 12,300; FD $ 7,000)

DraftKings/FanDuel DFS Utility Options

Along with the others I’m considering for the captain spot, these can also be good utility games.

Judge Aaron (DK$10,200; FD$10,000)

The Yankees moved Judge to No. 2 on the roster for Game 3 and it paid immediate dividends. Judge hit a game-tying two-run homer yesterday in the third inning. We know that Judge has struggled since he tied Roger Maris’ American League home run record. Seeing that ball go over the wall yesterday could have a positive effect on Judge.

Jose Ramirez (DK$9,800; FD$8,500)

Ramirez is hitting .348 in the playoffs after a three-hit effort yesterday. Ramirez has six hits in three games against the Yankees thus far and is one of the few Cleveland players to hit Gerrit Cole well in his career. Ramirez is 7-for-24 with two home runs, two doubles, a triple and five walks against Cole. Today there is a virtual padlock for any point.

Oscar Gonzalez (DK$7,200; FD$6,500)

It’s really hard to want to charge the Yankees in this game as most of them have struggled in this series. Gonzalez, since hitting the series-winning game against the Rays in the 18th inning last Sunday, has three hits and three RBIs in this series. He pulled the collar against Cole in Game 1, but the price on him is low enough if he decides to step up the hot bat.

Other options: Giancarlo Stanton (9.400 DK$; 8.500 FD$); Josh Naylor (7.000 DK$; 6.500 FD$); Josh Donaldson (7800 DK$; 5500 FD$)
