After 60 minutes of play it was over. The derby in the Kreisoberliga Nord between SV Steinbach II and SG Dittlofrod/Körnbach came to a bitter end.

A long ball, two players running into each other, a bang. It was immediately clear that this scene would have consequences. Nikolai Kornder, goalkeeper of the SG Dittlofrod/Körnbachand Christian Beikirch, striker of the reserves of the SV Steinbachstruggling with severe pain. Beikirch seemed to have had the ball first in the previous scene, as the artificial leather tumbled into the goal. But that shouldn’t matter. While Beikirch had three teeth bent inwards and he was bleeding from his mouth, Kornder was carried off the pitch on a stretcher. A thick turban adorned his head. Kornder, of all people, one might say because at the beginning of the season he suffered a concussion during a guest appearance at FSG Bebra and was unconscious on the pitch.

Before the game was stopped, SV Steinbach had led 2-1

After two ambulances rushed in, the teams agreed to abandon the game after a 13-minute break. The game will now start again. Bitter from a sporting point of view, especially for Steinbach’s reserves, Joachim Weber’s team led 2-1 after an hour. At the beginning, the SVS came into play well, also thanks to the Hessenliga experience of Leon Wittke, among others. First his free kick was cleared just before the line, then he brought a sharp ball inside and Mirco Bott put his foot in (20′). The guest from Dittlofrod and Körnbach was deep and had offensive problems, as Levin Baumgart, among other things, was red-banned. So Leonhard Käsmann was alone in the field. But that Käsmann should have made it 1-0 for the SGDK before the deficit. Jonas Hofmann made a good deep shot, but Ferdinand Vogt was just as strong in the SVS box (17th). The tide turned in the middle of the first half, but the game community rarely came to conclusions. And conceded a simple goal with the half-time whistle. Nicolas Kochanski crossed from the half field, Beikirch headed past Kornder into the goal (45+1).

Heiderich: “Very fair move from Steinbach”

Until the game was stopped, Bott missed the 3-0 after the restart when he hit an air hole, on the other side Marc-André Lange headed the goal (59th). Seconds later the game was over. “There are voices saying that we won’t be able to field such a good team again any time soon. So it’s bitter for us from a sporting point of view, but Dittlofrod/Körnbach is our neighboring club and we’re trying to have a good relationship,” said SVS coach Weber, who was expressly thanked by his opponent Heiderich: “A very fair step, since they had high hopes for the team provided. It was difficult for my boys. Some didn’t want to continue playing because we’ve been branded this season by the injuries to Nikolai and Loris Baumgart in Bebra.”
