Derby is here! In what lineups will Slavia and Sparta start?

The day when the whole of Czech football stops for a while is here. Slavia will challenge Sparta in the Prague derby, the duel in Eden is already on the program from 7 p.m. today. In which formations will both teams enter the derby?

Slavia

Let’s start with the home Slavia. It is clear in the goal, due to the injury of Aleš Mandous, Ondřej Kolář is now number one. He played 11 matches against Sparta, did not lose even once and did not concede a goal in five matches in a row. They couldn’t ask for a more suitable goalkeeper.

On defense, there is a question mark on the left side. Trpišovský has two great backs, David Jurásek and Oscar Dorley. The first-named is an excellent supporter of the attack, but sometimes his defenses falter, not so with Oscar. Therefore, it can be expected that Trpišovský will bet on a Liberian football player in such an important match.

Slavia doesn’t have much choice in stoppers. The only possible pair is Ousou – Kačaraba, the emergency solution is Christ Tiéhi, but he will be in reserve. David Douděra is expected to start at right back, who will rotate with Lukáš Masopust at right midfield.

Trpišovský’s dream central midfield Holeš – Ševčík – Provod will certainly not work, the first and last are out of the game, Ševčík’s start is uncertain. Thus, Tiéhi should get into the game, and Ondřej Lingr, who will definitely be useful in the derby with his aggressiveness, should get into the game. If Ševčík wasn’t there, Traoré or Hromada are offered.

On the left wing, there is certainty in the form of Peter Olayinka, on the other side, the already mentioned Masopust should start, who should also cover Casper Højer at left back.

At the tip of the attack, the decision will be made between Stanislav Telec and Václav Jurečka, due to their leadership and experience in the derby, the deployment of the league’s best scorer can be expected.

Probable lineup of Slavia:

Wheeler
Douděra – Ousou – Kačaraba – Oscar
Tiéhi – Ševčík
Mardi Gras – Lingr – Olayinka

Sparta

Even on the visitors’ side, there is certainty in goal in the form of Matěj Kovář. The guest from Manchester United very quickly secured the post of number one and seems very confident.

On the left side of the defense, Casper Højer excels, having already amassed a record of 2+7. Jaroslav Zelený dropped out of the stopper position and was replaced by Martin Vitík, who stood up to Asger Sørensen. However, the start of the Danish stopper is also in jeopardy due to injury.

There is a big question mark at right back. Tomáš Wiesner has built a relatively secure position in the league in recent matches, but he has big problems with defending. However, Jan Mejdr shone in the cup duel with three assists and spoke quite loudly about the starting line-up. But will Priske want to change the winning line-up from the league?

When we move to the reserve, we need to answer the question: Will Priske continue to insist on the dysfunctional system with two strikers after the return of Čvančara? Or will they choose the winning option with one point and three midfielders? It is the midfield that will be extremely important in the derby and therefore it can be expected that Priske will choose the second option.

Captain Ladislav Krejčí, who was spared for the derby in the last two duels, should start there. David Pavelka should start next to him, as evidenced by the half-time investigation in Domažlice.

Lukáš Sadílek jumps in ahead of them, on the wings it is relatively clear in the absence of Pešek and Jankt. Lukáš Haraslín jumps on the left, Kryštof Daněk on the other side. There is also a variant with Karabec in the game, but the first choice is more likely to be expected.

At the tip of the attack, Priske has two choices. Jan Kuchta and Tomáš Čvančara. The choice will fall on the first-named, who has been in good form in recent matches.

Probable Sparta line-up:

Blacksmith
Wiesner – Vitík – Sørensen – Højer
Pavelka – Krejčí
Daněk – Sadílek – Haraslín
