Dennis Schröder is still haunted by the defeat against Spain

Dennis Schröder is still following the lost semi-final of the European Championship against Spain more than two weeks after the defeat.

“I’m still upset that we didn’t finish first, I watch the game against Spain almost every day,” said Schröder MagentaSport during the Bundesliga game between Braunschweig and Würzburg on Monday: “But in the end we made history.”

Germany, with captain Schröder, had won the match for third place against Poland – it was Germany’s first medal in 17 years and the third after gold in 1993 and silver in 2005.

Schröder wants to continue to support the national team to the best of his ability in the future. “So in three years – then I’ll be what? 31, 32 – that’s not old yet,” he said. That’s why he will, of course, “as long as I can play and am at a good level so that I can help the German national team.”
