Defeat of the San Fernando Valencia Badminton Club

Last Saturday, October 22, the second day of the #TOP10 IBERDROLA took place between the San Fernando Valencia Badminton Club and the IES Las Orden Club, a match that fell on the side of the Huelvas due to a tough 7-0 result.

The match began with the mixed doubles in which the locals lined up the couple formed by Pablo Abián and Haidee Ojeda to face Fran Olivares and Llucia Vázquez on behalf of the Valencian team. The match developed with a good performance by the Valencians but in the end the experience and the high sporting level of the local couple was noted when they controlled the game and thus took their first global point with a score of 11-6, 11- 7, 11-4.

In the doubles round by gender, the Valencians Fran Olivares and Lorenzo Adell had a remarkable opportunity to take the first global point in the men’s doubles modality but finally the couple from La Orden Alejandro Pérez and Alberto Perals managed to win the match with a fair score from 6-11, 11-10, 11-7, 7-11, 11-9. On the women’s side, Llucia Vázquez and Silvia Ferrandis from San Fernando stood up to the local couple made up of Haidee Ojeda and Laura Santos, however once again the scoreboard fell on the Huelva side 11-4, 10-11, 11-2 , 11-3.

The individual round began with a global score of 3-0 for CB IES La Orden but the Valencian side did not lose heart to score the first point. On the men’s side, Arturo Hernández, player and coach of the San Fernando team, faced the Olympian Pablo Abián on behalf of the Order and on the women’s side, the Valencian Silvia Ferrandis against the Olympic player Telma Santos on behalf of the locals. The two courts were developed with long and quality points but finally the experience of both local players was noted taking 2 more points in the aggregate for a 11-4, 10-11, 11-3 in the men’s and 11-6, 11-4, 10-11, 11-5 in the women’s.

The last round of the day closed with singles number 1. In the women’s, Laura Santos gave La Orden the sixth point when facing Andrea Arrones for San Fernando who fought until the last moment but it was not enough to take that point away. to the local with a score of 11-7, 11-3, 11.7. To close, it was Lorenzo Adell who played the other men’s single against Alberto Perals, losing this last point for La Orden and thus taking the seventh point with a score of 11-6, 11-2, 11-4.

After the final result, the San Fernando coach, Arturo Hernández, did not comment that “We knew from the beginning that it would be a difficult match because we were facing a very complete team, but personally for me it was important that the boys had a good performance on the track and I think that in general we have achieved it.
