The deadline for submission of professional aspirations for the 2022 draft meeting was 5:00 pm on the 6th. The Japan High School Baseball Federation and the All Japan University Baseball Federation updated their lists to 154 high school students and 184 university students. Some players have yet to see their submissions, but the main nominees are still on the list.

Among high school students, Shogo Asano (Takamatsu Commerce), who is attracting attention, submitted. He hit 68 career high school home runs in doubles, including one at Koshien last summer and three at Koshien this summer. Haruya Tanaka (Nihon Bunri), a right-hander with a maximum speed of 150 km, will face Kaisei (Nagasaki) in the first Koshien match this summer. He was hit with 7 runs in the 6th inning, partly due to the peeling of the right index finger, but he is expected to be nominated for a higher rank.

Kyosuke Saito (Morioka center), a right-hander with a maximum speed of 152 km, attracted attention by defeating Hanamaki Higashi, who has Rintaro Sasaki, with a complete game at the Iwate tournament this summer. Yosho Yamada (Omi), who became the runner-up in the spring selection, and Ruda Morishita (Kyoto International), the left arm of the top four at Koshien last summer, also submitted. Keita Murakami (Kyushu Gakuin), who has Yakult’s Munetaka Murakami as his brother, and Hou Naito (Japan Airlines Ishikawa), who has a total of 53 high school shots, are also worth watching.

Among university students, Kota Yazawa (Nippon Sport Science University), who is a two-sword fighter, submitted. Attention will be paid to how he will be evaluated by professionals as a strong fielder or a left arm that throws over 150 kilograms. From the Tokyo Big 6 Universities, Takuya Hiruma (Waseda Univ.), a total of 12 players in the league, Kenta Yamada (Ritsu Univ.), who was also nominated as a candidate for Samurai Japan, and Yasunori Shoji (Ritsu Univ.), who has the fastest speed of 153 km, submitted. Powerful right fielder Shota Morishita (Chuo Univ.), right-hander Naomasa Kanamura (Fuji Univ.) who is expected to be an immediate force, and left-hander Ryuhei Sotani (Hakuoh Univ.) who can reach the fastest speed of 152 km are also top contenders.
