David Ospina spoke about Al Nassr, his failed signing at Real Madrid, Colombia and Nacional | Colombians Abroad

David Ospina, one of the best goalkeepers that the Colombian National Team and as such Colombian football has had in recent times, has spoken for the first time about his arrival at Al-Nassr from Saudi Arabia and his performance in the national team, where he and several referents have been criticized for still being summoned.

However, in an interview revealed to Semana Magazine, David Ospina talked about various topics, where he touches on how his adaptation in Saudi Arabia has been and why he decided to go to a minor league after being able to continue competing in Europe.

“We are playing, getting to know this new football. It is a championship that in this part of the world is one of the most competitive. The teams have excellent players, the level is important and one has to be very well prepared. There were other offers, but we made the decision to come here because I have the competitiveness. In Napoli I am very grateful”, said David Ospina to the renowned media outlet.

Regarding these offers, Ospina also stressed that he had the possibility of going to Real Madrid, but for various reasons, he decided to take other directions in his career.

There was some truth in that about Real Madrid, but certain circumstances had to happen for it to happen in the end, but the decision we made was that of Arabia and we are here taking advantage of this beautiful opportunityOspina acknowledged.

Likewise, the Colombian goalkeeper cleared doubts about that scandalous 6-1 that Colombia suffered in the time of Carlos Queiroz, where he confirmed that there was no such pact to remove the Portuguese from the bench.

“We were the first hurt, because who is going to want to lose 6 to 1 at the national team level, nobody wants to lose like that. These are circumstances that happen within a party. Unfortunately, it lent itself to many comments, a lot of curiosity, a lot of unfounded things. TThey also talked about how I didn’t want to play that game when I was injured.”goalkeeper David Ospina explained.

Finally, Ospina spoke of a possible return to Atlético Nacional, the club that saw him born as a footballer, making it clear that he wants to return, but everything will depend on how he is in terms of football.

“National will always be a possibility, we hope that if that opportunity is given, to return. We have to be very responsible for the moment we are in, because the idea is to come back well”, concluded David Ospina.

For the time being, David Ospina will continue with Al-Nassr, where he hopes to continue being a figure, as it must be remembered that a week ago he was chosen as the goalkeeper of the month for his good competitive level in the Saudi Arabian league, where his team is second with 19 points.
