Cremona Sera – Italian Cup 3D Italy 3D Indoor: archery arrives at CremonaFiere

This weekend, Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October, Pavilion 2 of CremonaFiere will host the event 3D Indoor Italian Cup organized by Cremarchery Team in collaboration with Arcieri Seri-Art Cremona, Arcieri del Rivellino and Arcieri delle Alpi, with the participation of FITARCO – FITARCO Regione Lombardia and the patronage of the Municipality of Cremona.

The event, presented this morning in the Sala dei Quadri of Palazzo Comunale, has reached its third edition and, after the first two held in Piedmont, this year it will be hosted in Cremona. It is an experimental competition as the 3D archery discipline was born to be played in very large open spaces, generally woods. For this reason it is not yet a federal event as it does not award any Italian title. Although born for the outdoors, “the passion of archers is so great that it cannot stop in the winter months and even this discipline in the future may eventually be formally recognized by the federation”, as stated by Ardingo Scarzella, Fitarco events manager.

The CremonaFiere spaces were found to be the most suitable to allow the realization of these competitions and the event perfectly matches the mission of the Fair Authority, which is increasingly willing to host heterogeneous and unusual events, as stated by the Director Massimo De Bellis himself.

The 3D Italian Cup has obtained the patronage and collaboration of the Municipality of Cremona and has been included by the Department of Sport within the experimental Sport & Tourism project, created in synergy with the Tourism Sector, which aims to enhance the most important sporting events. relevant and promote the city on a tourist level. As stated by the Councilor for Sport Luca Zanacchi, this event represents an important opportunity for the city as it will involve about 370 athletes from all over Italy with their accompanying persons.

Qualifying will be held on Saturday, while the highlight of the race will be Sunday between 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm, time slot in which the finals will be held. The event is open to the public and admission is free on both Saturdays and Sundays from 11.00 to 16.00. In addition to attending the competitions and meeting champions such as Paola Fantato, Alberto Simonelli and Elisabetta Mellino, it will also be possible to experience the discipline and “archery” for people with disabilities.

As underlined, both by the Councilor for Sport Luca Zanacchi and by the Director of CremonaFiere Massimo De Bellis and by the organizers themselves, it is increasingly crucial to join forces to develop increasingly important and attractive events that bring real benefits to the city and this certainly represents an important step.
