After the German Olympic Sports Confederation did not extend the current contract with Dirk Schimmelpfennig, according to the competitive sports expert, there is now an agreement.

DAccording to his own statement, irk Schimmelpfennig has “mutually agreed on a leave of absence” with the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB). This is what the competitive sports expert writes in his farewell letter of October 27th to the member associations of the DOSB.

According to this, the Rhinelander left office as the DOSB board member for competitive sports on Thursday. The umbrella organization had not extended his contract, which ran until the end of the year.

Schimmelpfennig came to the DOSB from the German Table Tennis Association almost eight years ago and was involved, among other things, with the complex reform of competitive sports and the promotion of top-class sports in Germany, which began in 2015. The implementation is not yet complete. The 62-year-old Schimmelpfennig attributes the hitherto unrecognizable effect “to a lack of targeted use of resources”.
