Challenger Pro League
The U23 teams continue to do well in the Challenger Pro League. The youngsters of Anderlecht were in the lead for a while, those of Club Brugge are now also in the top of the ranking after a win against Deinze.
When Club NXT was allowed to play for the first time in what was then called 1B, the youngsters paid a lot of money. But now the promise teams are no longer laughingstock in the Challenger Pro League.
Yet it was precisely the only older player in blue-black who made the difference against Deinze. Lennert Mertens came over from Deinze in the summer to take the talents of Club in tow.
He did that against his ex-team with verve, although he refused to cheer for his goals out of respect.
With its 4th win this season, Club NXT comes alongside Lierse and the RSCA Futures for the time being, in the wake of leader SK Beveren. Deinze remains in last place.
