Bad news for Club Brugge twice: Clinton Mata is still out at Union, and Abakar Sylla received a heavier suspension on appeal. The young defender now has to miss four games and is therefore not there in the cup match against Patro Eisden.

Junior Verbeeke and David Van den Broeck

Carl Hoefkens has released his selection for the top match at Union: Club still has to do without Clinton Mata on Saturday, who already had to give up against Sint-Truiden this week. The defender is still hampered by an injury. Well in the core: Noa Lang, came in convincingly on Wednesday and also good for an excellent assist. The non-selection at Anderlecht is clearly a thing of the past. Whether the winger will also start in the base remains to be seen.

Club also received bad news on Friday: the appeal against Abakar Sylla’s three-week suspension was unsuccessful. The suspension was even extended: he now has four games to miss. Only the Disciplinary Council, which handled the appeal, still has to decide and let it be known whether that extra match day applies to the A-team or to the promises. Because it concerns a revocation of an old suspension in the promises. In any case, the penalty will go into effect against Union on Saturday.

Preciado banned for four weeks

There was also bad news at Racing Genk. The club had appealed the suspension of Angelo Preciado, but that remains up to date. Preciado is therefore suspended for four weeks, three of which are effective, and must also pay a fine of 3,500 euros.
