Club Badminton Soria-CS24 in the Iberdrola Cup

The Syrian-CS24 Badminton Club participated last weekend in the 5th Iberdrola badminton Cup, a competition held in Oviedo and played by teams, reserved for national league clubs.

In this test, only for women, the winner of each confrontation was resolved with the highest number of wins of the three singles matches and the two doubles matches played.

The Soria club participated for the third time in this tournament contributing a very young team, made up of four players trained in the Soriano club youth academy. The list of participating teams represented the leading clubs on the national scene, with two teams from the division of honor who matched the Sorianas in the draw.

In the first phase, the group phase, the clubs of the highest category, the Club Ravachol de Pontevedra and the locals of the Club Badminton Oviedo beat the club from Soria, by a similar result of 4-1, obtaining the point in both games for the sub17 player , Daniela Corchon.

In the elimination phase, the Sorianas beat Club Badminton Astures by a resounding 3-0, with the triumphs of the doubles composed by Daniela Corchón with Ana Peñaranda and Beatriz Hernández with Nora Martínez, who with the new triumph of the individual of Daniela Corchón closed the confrontation.

In the last match, against Club Badminton Granollers, the Sorianas lost by three games to one, qualifying in a fantastic tenth position.

The group, led by Víctor Ortega, competed against top category clubs without complexes, assuming an excellent competition for the great goal of the Soria club season, which is to achieve permanence in the first national division.

In addition to these four players, two other players from the Soria youth academy, Isabel Corchón and Carmen Gómez, went to Tordesillas where a new scoring test for the national ranking was played. In the first year of both in the sub15 category, the most outstanding result was the fifth place achieved by Isabel Corchón.
