Chucho Nader Inaugurates New Courts and Tampico Tennis Open

TAMPICO, TAMAULIPAS.- The Municipal President of Tampico Chucho Nader inaugurated the tennis complex in the Ciudad Deportiva, to start the international Women’s Tennis tournament, endorsed by the WTA that takes place in the city.

The head of the commune, accompanied by his wife, Aída Féres de Nader, President of the DIF System; He explained that the sports complex consists of five professional tennis courts whose surface allows the development of official competitions.

“We are very happy and we feel very proud to inaugurate the construction of these five tennis courts, the first public spaces of this type in the city; courts that will remain for the use of all Tampico residents; We are also very happy to inaugurate this Tampico 2022 international tennis tournament.”

The president explained that, in addition to the tennis courts, the local government has carried out the construction of a modern softball stadium; two synthetic grass soccer fields, the main porch of the sports city; in addition to the modernization of the baseball fields and the comprehensive rehabilitation of the roofs on the basketball courts, among other spaces, which represents more than 80 million pesos invested to expand and modernize the sports infrastructure for the benefit of the population that inhabits in the municipality and in the metropolitan area.

The act, which was also attended by the Secretary of Labor Olga Sosa Ruiz, representing Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya, as well as Federal Deputy Rosa González Azcárraga, local legislators Nora Gómez González, Mon Marón and Ángel Covarrubias; Chucho Nader indicated that in addition to the construction of the courts, state-of-the-art lighting was installed, which provides the opportunity to hold night games, as planned for the Tampico Open 2022.

“Today Tampico continues to shine as a clean, safe and highly competitive city, with a modern sports infrastructure that allows world-class tournaments to be held, such as the Women’s Tennis Open, which brings together more than thirty of the best tennis players ranked in the ranking. of the WTA,” he said.

The inauguration of the tennis complex was also attended by the head of sports in the municipality, Marcelo Cazaubón Rincón; Dona Kelso, supervisor of the Women’s Tennis Association -WTA-; Fernando Tamayo, Director of the Tampico Open Tournament and Olga de la Fuente Co-director of the event, among other personalities.

After the inauguration of the courts, the first match of the tournament took place between the players Camila Osorio from Colombia and Nao Hibino from Japan.
