Changes are now required

Míchel’s literal “let’s stop tactics and hostias” in the press room, explaining what he had said to the players in the middle of the game, is already completely definitive of what Girona once again experienced on the field yesterday. In ten games played, Girona have given gifts or have been extremely soft in defense in seven games, which has blown away a lot of points that would now be a magnificent spoil to not be seen in the relegation places.

And it is that for the first time this season Girona occupies one of the last three positions in the league, and it will have to be seen how the dressing room assumes this considering that Míchel himself had already said in the preview of the game Almeria that the pressure had reached its players.

But rather than looking back, what is needed is to look at the next commitments, more specifically this Sunday against Osasuna, in which it is essential that there are changes in the defensive part. Míchel has so far grown tired of defending his men’s mistakes, which he has done with great skill, but it is undeniable that after giving away points in seven of the ten games played, Girona needs new faces. It is no longer to point out or not some protagonists, but to look for an immediate reaction to reverse the negative dynamics of results, with a single point from the last fifteen contested.

Anything that is not new to the eleven in Sunday’s match against Osasuna can increase the nervousness of the players themselves and also the general indignation of the fans, tired of seeing that childish mistakes cost points like yesterday’s against a direct rival

Arguing about Stuani’s mistake in one of the two penalties, or whether or not Yangel Herrera’s goal at the last moment was disallowed is, as the cliché would say, looking for excuses for being a bad payer. And the clearest proof is Míchel’s own words reprimanding his players for the role played in the first half. When you give away so much, and in such an absurd way, to your rival, there is little point in lamenting.
