Beveren continues to chase Anderlecht youngsters after an easy evening in Dender | Challenger Pro League 2022/2023

SK Beveren continues to pant in the neck of the RSCA Futures. After a 5-0 against Lierse, today it put an easy 3-0 against Dender – who was fucked by a red card in the first half – on the board. Wim De Decker’s men stay on course for the title in the Challenger Pro League.

SK Beveren has had an excellent start to the season. The team of Wim De Decker, former assistant coach of AA Gent, had a view of the leader position in the Challenger Pro League today. If it won itself and Anderlecht’s futures dropped points, it jumped to the lead.

Those beautiful prospects clearly gave the men from the Waasland a boost. Dieumerci Mbokani is not yet eligible to play, so Thierno Barry took the striker position for the second week in a row. After five minutes he seized his chance. A dream start for yellow-blue.

Dender did his very best to get back into the game in the first half, but to make matters worse, the ball was put on the spot just before half-time. Kobe Cools was sent to the dressing room early with a red card. Lucas Ribeiro Costa converted the eleven meter flawlessly.

Beveren took his foot off the accelerator in the second half. With 11 men Dender already had a hard time, but with 10 it was almost impossible to change the beacons. In the final minutes Barry could even hit his second against the net.

Anderlecht’s youngsters also did their duty against Virton (3-1). Beveren therefore has to wait at least another week for the leading position.
