BD: Valérian and Laureline take a youthful look

The strength of SF and especially space-time travel is to be able to play with chronologies and the paradoxes they create. Illustration once again with this third cover of the duo Valérian and Laureline who find here one of their creators: Pierre Christin. We will remember that the other dad of the duo, Jean-Claude Mézières, died at the beginning of this year. As for Spirou, the two agents of Galaxity (i.e. the Earth of the future) saw their adventures taken up by various authors for unique albums. After Larcenythen the pair running ray et Lupanoit is Virginie Augustin (Monsieur Désir?) who takes up the pencil for this album in halftone. Christin tackles a series of themes that are dear to her, such as criticism of media society, the unscrupulous powerful or the exploration of villages in the former Soviet Union, but in a way that is a little too superficial for us to understand. really attaches to it as much as the action never quite takes off.

In short, it’s pleasant but not very exciting…
