Bautista Torres and Genario Olivieri signed victories against compatriots in Rio

The ATP Challenger Tour continues its journey in South American lands. In Rio de Janeiro, a large number of tennis players from the region took to the courts to continue adding in the last stretch of the year. The Argentines Baptist Torres (237th) y Genaro Olivieri (265°) they sealed the pass to the next instance with victories over compatriots.

Torres, champion in Troyes this season, signed a resounding performance against Juan Pablo Paz: 7-6 (5) and 6-0 in one hour and 45 minutes of play to get into the second round. There he awaits another countryman: Federico Coria, top favorite in the category 80 event. Olivieri, for his part, clung to a three-set duel against Mariano Navone, a recent finalist in Villa María, 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 in two hours and 20 minutes in basketball court.

Who also advanced to the next instance was Renzo Olivo (175th) with a 3-6, 6-3 and 6-4 in two hours and 49 minutes of activity against the Portuguese Gastao Elias.

Other albicelestes in action who did not have the same fate were Gonzalo Villanueva (lost to Italian Marco Cecchinato 6-4, 6-2), Francisco Comesana (lost to local Matheus Pucinelli De Almeida 6-0, 6-1), Camilo Ugo Carabelli (ceded against Italian representative Luciano Darderi 4-6, 6-1, 6-1) and Andrea Collarini (he said goodbye in front of the Peruvian John Paul Varillas by 3-6, 7-6 (5) and 6-1).
