ES Gimont is back in business in NF2. By welcoming Lamboisières-Martin, an opponent not to be overlooked. The objective is simple: resume as best as possible to continue the forward march of the club.
Since October 15, the players of Etoile Sportive Gimontoise (ESG) have benefited from a mini-truce linked to the semi-finals of the Occitanie cup.
The Gers players are back in business this Saturday, October 29 from 8 p.m. by welcoming their counterparts from Lamboisières-Martin, a very good team, currently sixth in the standings, with three wins for two losses on the clock, that is- that is to say one length behind the Gersoises, third with four victories for a single loss.
To approach this match, the ESG deplores the absences for injury of Léa Delaplace (knee) and Lola Marin (elongation). This does not trouble the group, as the emblematic interior Élina Conduche explains: “We will do with these injuries, we are lucky to have a great bench depth and a lot of players. We are going to do the best, I I’m not worried.”
Lamboisières-Martin has a profile quite similar to that of the ESG, relying mainly on its defense: 55.6 points against 53.0 for the Gersoises. Moreover, for Élina Conduche, this part of the field is the strong point of the Gimontoises: “Our main strength is our defense. We have worked on it well since last week. And we have a very united group, it is feels in our defense, which requires a collective state of mind.”
The meeting should therefore be balanced, Élina Conduche showing confidence: “I am wary of everyone, but the match is playable. You have to remain lucid, humble, focused.”
