The basketball players of FC Bayern Munich also lost their second game of the season in the Euroleague. The quarter-finalist of the previous season lost 63:66 (32:34) at the Italian championship runner-up Virtus Bologna on Thursday evening. Munich had previously conceded a 62:74 in their own hall against Fenerbahce Istanbul. Bayern were still leading 51:48 in Bologna just under three minutes before the end of the third quarter, but then completely lost the thread and conceded 16 points in a row up to 51:64 from the Italians around long-time NBA professional Marco Belinelli. Despite a strong final sprint, the guests could not turn the game. Bayern’s best pitcher was German international Nick Weiler-Babb (16 points).
