ATP – Stockholm > Tiafoe (led 3-6, 0-4 before coming out): “I think the only reason I won is that he didn’t believe it”

Frances Tiafoe achieved one of the most beautiful “comebacks” of the year by winning against Elias Ymer in the round of 16 in Stockholm (3-6, 7-6[4]7–6[2]), after trailing 3–6, 0–4. The American told how he experienced this match which will necessarily remain special for him this season.

“It was an incredible effort, a big win for me, to come back and win like that. I really didn’t deserve to win today. Elias was playing really well. He’s a hell of a player. At the beginning, I was really flat, really negative. It’s been a long year and it’s hard, I’m pretty tired. He just needs to believe in himself. I think he hits the ball as well as anyone. He moves so fast. He just has to believe in himself. Today, I think the only reason I won was because he didn’t believe it. If he believes in himself, he can be very good. »

The 17the Mondial affrontera Emil Ruusuvuori en quarts de finale ce vendredi.
