Pedro Sarmiento is ready to say goodbye to Atlético Nacional, a team in which he was first as technical assistant to Hernán Darío Herrera, and then as manager in charge, replacing the ‘Arriero’ and giving the purslane squad a boost.
This Sunday, Sarmiento would direct his last game in Nacional, at home against Águilas Doradas on date 16 of the BetPlay II-2022 League; and next week Paulo César Autuori will be presented as the new proprietary technician, to take over from the next day.
However, Sarmiento made a radical decision for this game, leaving a clear message to the Brazilian coach: be careful with this figure in the squad, who still needs to improve in several aspects.
This Saturday, Sarmiento chose 18 players summoned for the match against the Golden Eagles, again leaving Jarlan Barrera out. The talented samarium midfielder was also not summoned by the coach for the classic against Medellín; he did not play against America even though he was a substitute; and his last (27′) was on September 29 in a 1-1 draw with Santa Fe.
It should be noted that Sarmiento confirmed that Jarlan is overweight, something that was notorious in the game in Bogotá, against the Cardinals. That’s why he has relegated him, until he gets in tune with the physical level of his teammates.
Message to Autuori: the steering wheel is not to compete; and not even being a figure can you skip certain rules. Will the Brazilian maintain the same demand or will he take it into account as it is?
