Are Bayern serious about the DFB star?

Even if Bayern are very well positioned in central midfield, Bayern are always associated with new players. In addition to Konrad Laimer, DFB star Ilkay Gündogan should also be an option for FCB. According to current reports, the Munich team is already in contact with the 32-year-old. There are now different reports on this.

At the beginning of the week, the first reports circulated that Bayern would deal with Ilkay Gündogan. The Germany international is only contractually tied to Manchester City until the end of the season and has not yet made a decision about his sporting future. According to the “90min” portal, the midfielder should be quite open to a return to Germany and be on the list at Bayern Munich. The name was already circulating on Säbener Straße last summer.

Several top European clubs are watching Gündogan

According to “90min” information, Bayern should already have expressed their interest on the player side. Transfer insider Matteo Moretto also claims to have learned that Munich is already in contact with Gündogan. In addition to the German record champions, there are other interested parties. These include above all PSG and Juventus Turin.

Whether and how Gündogan will continue next summer will not be decided until after the World Cup in Qatar at the earliest, as the 32-year-old does not want to think too much about his sporting future beforehand. But one thing is clear: staying in Manchester is not out of the question. The Sky Blues would like to extend Gündogan. Accordingly, there have already been initial talks between the club and the player.

While the Bavarians are said to have a specific interest in the foreign media, “BILD” football boss Christian Falk has denied these reports. According to Falk, Munich have no interest in the DFB international.

“BILD” chief reporter Tobi Altschäffl does not expect Gündogan to leave England either: “He is a regular player and an absolute top performer at Manchester and I expect that he will extend his contract there,” he explained in the “Bayern Insider” podcast.
