Archery, Italian Naked Arch Cup: Still results for the Byzantine Archers

Still results for the Byzantine Archers last weekend, in Settimo Torinese, where the “Italian Naked Arch Cup”national competition that officially closes the outdoor season.

Second edition of a beautiful event that will no longer be held, as, from the 2023 season, as recently resolved by the international organization World Archery and immediately ratified by the Federal Council FITARCO, the Naked Arch division (Barebow according to the international wording), will finally have access to the Italian outdoor Championships, as well as to the Regional Championships, as already happens for the Olympic and compound division.

At the end of the highest level challenges that saw the presence of the entire men’s and women’s national team who had just won back from the world championships held in Yankton (Dakota) last week, the class and absolute titles, both individual and team, were awarded.

To defend the yellow and red colors took the field: Marcello Tozzola, Angela Padovani, Simone Pizzi, Massimo Venturi and the young Matelda Miologiving us, once again, excellent results to crown a certainly positive season that has led them to always be present on the podiums that count, in national and regional competitions, for 14 times (6 titles between class and absolute, 5 silver and 3 bronzes).

And it is on the diamond of BC Settimo Torinese, that on Saturday 15, at the end of the 72 qualifying arrows, the medals arrive.

At his first participation in a national demonstration, Matelda Miolofemale junior category, has defended the yellow and red colors very well, winning a well-deserved one bronze medal with a score of 497 (238 + 259) and setting the new company record as well as her personal best.

Also climbs on the third step of a podium all from Emilia Romagna Marcello Tozzola in the male masters category with a score of 619 (309 + 310) winning the bronze.

Historic podium instead for the men’s master team dove Marcello Tozzolawith Simone Pizzi (21°) e Massimo Venturi (27th) get on the first step of the podium winning a beautiful gold medal and winning the Italian Cup in the team class with a score of 1754 which also certifies the new club record for the Giallorossi team.

On Sunday, with the elimination system of the last 4 classified of each round of 12 arrows starting from the thirty-second, Angela Padovani, eighth in qualifying with 555 points, reaches the semifinal making an excellent 7th place overall. 8th place overall instead for Marcello Tozzola who, in the decisive heat, fails to maintain the average scores we had brought him to the semifinals.

Excellent results also come from the Byzantine instinctive shooting team that on Sunday 9 October, in the course-type competition organized by the Asd Frecce di Romagna in Piavola (FC), scored three podiums.

Double for the sisters Sofia and Elettra Ceroni which tinged the podium of the SCF (Female Scout) long bow category with yellow and red, placing respectively on the first and second step of the podium. Podium also for Franco MorigiCAM category (adult male) recurve bow that gets a very good second place. Placements for Franco Zannini, 7th in the CAM long bow category.
