Angelique Kerber reveals her comeback plan after pregnancy: “When I come back – then right”

The Grand Slam tournament in England is the Germans’ favorite tournament. In 2018, Kerber won her third and most recent major title at Wimbledon. However, the tournament in London begins on July 3, 2023, less than four months after the birth of her child.

The US Open, on the other hand, won’t start until August 28th. This would give Kerber a few more weeks to prepare.

After all, the 34-year-old “doesn’t want to play any tournaments just for training”. Kerber made it clear: “I’ll take my time, because when I come back – then right. I want to attack directly.”

“I’ve talked about that before with Kim, who even won the US Open twice as a mom, and also with Victoria Azarenka. The topic just interested me, even though I wasn’t pregnant,” said the three-time Grand Slam winner .

She will also hire a nanny when she returns. “I won’t leave the child at home,” said Kerber, who continues to do a lot of sport: “I don’t want to get completely out of exercise. Cardio, cycling, cross-trainer, walking, stability exercises, everything.”
