Alizé Cornet goes to the semi-finals in Monastir, Diane Parry stops there

Alizé Cornet (37th in the WTA) fought this Friday to overcome Tamara Zidansek (101st), in two sets (7-5, 7-6) in the quarter-finals in Monastir. Visibly tested by the Tunisian heat, the 32-year-old Niçoise had difficulty finishing as she led 5-3 in the second set and served to win the match.

After two unconverted match points at 5-4, she gave hope to her opponent who pushed her to the tie-break. Cornet was finally able to manage this end of the match to continue his journey in the semi-finals, his third of the season.

Parry misses the meeting with Cornet

The step was too high on the other hand for Diane Parry. The revelation of the last Roland-Garros lost in the quarter-finals against the Russian Veronika Kudermetova (6-4, 6-1), who knew how to impose her game from the start to the end of the match. The Russian, number 12 in the WTA, will find Alizé Cornet in the last four of the Tunisian tournament. This is the first time that the two players will face each other on the circuit.
