a match stopped after a fight between supporters, children in shock

Amateur football is going through a difficult period. A match between Redon and Bains-sur-Oust was stopped with a violent fight between the supporters. Three people were injured including a child. Charles Prioux, president of the Cadets of Bains-sur-Oust, explained in the columns of Ouest-France that children are in shock.

“We are still in shock. The match went well on the pitch, there is nothing to say. But 15 minutes from the end, during a stoppage in play, about ten people ran on the athletics track to come to us. It was stupor, chaos. I’m thinking of setting up a psychological unit. Parents call me to tell me that their children have had nightmares, haven’t slept. I encourage victims to go to the police station to file a complaint against the people who committed the violence.

President de Redon condemns the violence but refuses to take responsibility for the events

Anthony Mézière, president of the Redon club, also reacted in the columns of Ouest-France where he questioned a provocative banner of Bains-sur-Oust supporters while ensuring that his club was not at the origin of this fight. He nevertheless condemns the scenes of violence: “These are not people from the FCAV but from outside. We were present at the entrance to the stadium to make sure that no one posed a problem. But it was a Regional 1 match, between two clubs who know each other. It is not normal that we have to call on stewards at this level. A banner exhibited during the derby, had shocked. It was written, white on black: “Your dream? Our fervor! Our wish? You finish (sic).” I want to understand what happened so it doesn’t happen again. »
